INTERACTIVE DEMO
See NetSuite SuiteApprovals in Action.
An interactive walkthrough of a real multi-level purchase approval — from the employee who submits it, to the purchasing manager who reviews it, to the CFO who signs off. Live in a working NetSuite environment.
Demo: Abby Kwan (Employee) → Stella James (Purchasing) → Frank Davenport (CFO). Live in a working NetSuite environment.
What you just saw
SuiteApprovals is a free, native NetSuite SuiteApp. Once installed and configured, it routes records through multi-level approvals based on rules you define — dollar amounts, departments, roles, subsidiaries. The demo above walks through a $60,000 purchase order that requires two levels of approval because it exceeds the supervisor threshold.
Three people interacted with it. None of them had to think about routing.
Employee
Abby Kwan
Submits the purchase request from a simplified Employee Center. Sees real-time status without sending a single follow-up email.
First Approver
Stella James
Gets notified by email and on her phone. Approves directly from her inbox or from a pre-built reminder queue in NetSuite — her job takes seconds.
Final Approver
Frank Davenport, CFO
Sees every PO waiting on him from his dashboard. Approves once and the PO is fully released. The audit trail is automatic.
Why this matters
Automated
No manual handoff. The moment a record is saved, NetSuite identifies the right approvers based on rules, dollar thresholds, and hierarchy — and notifies them. Multi-level escalation runs without anyone having to push it along.
Auditable
Every action — who approved, when, with what comment, and who came next — is logged automatically to the record's Approval History subtab. No spreadsheets. No email archeology. Always ready for an auditor or board review.
Simple
Approvers act from email, mobile, or a one-click reminder queue. Requestors see live status without asking. Employees use a simplified Employee Center — no NetSuite training required.
SuiteApprovals vs. custom SuiteFlow
NetSuite gives you a few ways to handle approvals. The right choice depends on how complex your routing actually is.
SuiteApprovals SuiteApp
A free, native SuiteApp from NetSuite. Pre-built framework with approval rules, dollar thresholds, employee limits, hierarchical or custom routing, email approvals, delegation, and an Approval History audit log. Best for organizations whose approval logic fits a rules-and-thresholds model. The demo above runs entirely on SuiteApprovals.
Custom SuiteFlow
NetSuite's native workflow engine. More flexibility — non-sequential approvals, conditional routing, custom field manipulation, integration with other workflows. Required when approval logic doesn't fit a rules-based model or needs to coordinate with other NetSuite processes.
Native Approval Routing feature
NetSuite's original built-in routing for purchases and expenses. Still works, but Oracle is transitioning these workflows to SuiteFlow. New implementations should generally skip this and start with SuiteApprovals or SuiteFlow.
Most organizations get further than they expect with SuiteApprovals alone. Where it falls short, the right answer is often a SuiteFlow extension rather than rebuilding from scratch — SuiteApprovals runs on SuiteFlow under the hood.
When standard isn't enough
The demo you watched is what NetSuite does out of the box. For most approval processes, that's plenty.
For organizations that need more — simplified approval interfaces for occasional users, executive dashboards purpose-built for the C-suite, or branded approval portals for external stakeholders — Inscio builds custom experiences on top of NetSuite's same workflow engine. Same rules, same data, tailored interface. That's where our AI and intelligent automation practice picks up.
