Technology That Hindered The Company’s Vision
With diverse products and clients, Botanical Science had a business poised for growth, but technological barriers that needed to be removed. They had disparate systems for accounting, customer relationship management and their web site. Of course, email and spreadsheets were also used to fill the gaps.
Microsoft Dynamics met their minimum requirements for accounting. Unfortunately, Microsoft Dynamics was not intuitive, proved to be inflexible, and posed annoying infrastructure challenges. For years, they had tried different disconnected CRM tools by each created new silos of customer information, lacked user adoption and failed to bring their customer centric vision into focus. Additionally, over the years, Botanical Science developed and sunset several websites. Each site was disconnected from their other business systems and proved to be, at best, an online marketing data sheet.
